A lot of people don't progress in their jobs because
they have unconscious blocks against the idea of a
career. These blocks are associated with a whole
bundle of prejudices and half-truths. "Whoever has
more responsibility has to work much more." "People
in higher positions are avoided or *harassed by their
former colleagues." "People who are higher up have
further to fall." These views may have a grain of
truth in them, but the overall message is nonsense.
Drop these prejudices. Replace those old sayings
with new ones. After all, there are good reasons for
＿＿＿＿＿＿＿＿＿. Higher positions pay better. In a
higher position, you have more scope for
decision-making. People at the top are held in high
esteem, and they're treated better. Promotion brings
more variety and job satisfaction.

첫문장에서 전체적인내용을 progress로 잡은것처럼보여지네요
앞문장에서 progress를 할수없는 이유가 unconcious blocks 때문인데
이는 뒷부분의 oldsayings와 연결되네요
그런데 중후반부에서 이 oldsayings를 new ones로 갈아치우는 , 즉 oldsayings = unconcious blocks를 없애라는의미의 말을 한것같네요
즉 , progress를 할수 없는 이유를 없앰으로써 직장내에서 progress를 할수 있도록 해야한다는게 주제인것같으므로
progress와 관련된 getting to a higher position 이 답이 아닐까요 ?
